Did you know there's a life outside

what you know as your life?

This life outside is the real version

of your life,

the one you were never told about

nor realized it existed.

Some of you have found it

but with most,

the tryst with what you have always known

as your life continues.

Remember that feeling from the olden days

when you decided you would grow up

to be an astronaut, a dancer, a scientist,

an artist, a lawyer? That's how your life outside what you know feels like-

filled with immense potential and zeal.

And if you want it, it's yours to have,

just start unlearning what you know to get there.

I am now awake,

woke, wakened, conscious and enlightened.

The world, as they say, is my oyster now.

I am ready more than I ever was

to make those changes I have been meaning to for years.

Find and work the job you love, they said.

On it.

A thimble of carbohydrates you said?

I am on it.

No caffeine or drugs dependency?

Done.

Exercise everyday and live mindfully?

Yes! That's my jam now.

Speaking of jam, sugar is slow poison,

fruits in the jam are GMO,

I am all in to abandon them.

"Who needs what done from me now?" I ask into the universe.

The homework assignment? Consider it done.

Getting a haircut? On it.

Fresh laundry and dishes everyday? On it.

Nourish the mind, body and soul? On it.

Reduce screen time! On it.

Spend more time with your loved ones. On it and on it.

Bring it my way, consider it done.

That's the power of this feeling of

being awake, woke, wakened, conscious and enlightened.

Wait.

Maybe that's just how I feel but I am actually not.

Because in retrospect, that nap I woke up from seemed

life changing and made me feel fresher than morning dew.

Dammit!

Where's the coffee?

P.S. Don't underestimate the power of sleep and naps.

Well, I sang songs about love

about redemption, freedom

and unrequited romance.

They sang about parts of their body

we have been told to cover up

in society.

The ones who taught me that

didn't listen to a word of what I said

and went their own way-

I now realize they're fools,

haughty pretentious wallabies.

If I'd sung about the parts of my body

they told me to cover up

there could have been more who heard what I had to say.

'So change man!'

'But roots man!'

Roots anchor you and then kill you too.

What irony.
